Second week back at work and all is well. Still a bit worried about tightness in my mouth and changes in my ability to swallow. I am sure it is all well. It is now 12 months since I received my diagnosis, 11 months since surgery and 8 months since radiotherapy/chemotherapy. For the first 6 months I did notice gradual improvements but now it seems to have either slowed down or regressed It is hard not to worry about 'the return'. It really is challenging. Stay positive and if 'the return' occurs then I will manage it

Hope you are all having a good day.I am extremely tired after a busy weekend.Saturday went house hunting with my Daughter to Nowra.Saturday night my Daughter in law to be had organized a great night out starting with chinese dinner followed by live Acca Dacca tribute show.was great night but late.Yesterday we went to see the Dragons only my second rugby game I don't understand it much as I am an ex West Aussie (go the Dockers).I really enjoyed my weekend as once chemo starts I don't know what to expect.I have to see my gastro surgeon tomorrow for my 2 year check up after gastric bypass should

I was reading an article titled "Barred from screening" which went into why the government recommends free breast screening for older women only. The jist of it was that there was a higher risk of false positives in the testing of women aged 40 -49, no mention of women under 40. That at the end of the day it was an economic and resource issue, not enough doctors and not enough machines, even though the participation rate among the target group was 14% lower than aimed for.

If it wasn't enough to have Kidney cancer , now my poor Mum who looked after me when i got home from Hosp is now beed told she also has Cancer of the lung and Sarcoma also . She's gone from a work a holic 2 months a go to a frail little lady . I feel so sad for her 😞

Hello all, I've been reading people's posts about the caring role of a partner. There is such a helpless/powerless feeling as daily one seeks to understand what may be incomprehensible. How does one not become a 'nagging wife' when you worry? The stress from the diagnosis, to the surgery, and the complications following has been horrendous... Is there a feeling too that for people who are well meaning that they just might not understand that tears and fear are a natural reaction to the trauma of coping with the BIG "C".
