Wasn't as scary as I thought it would be but I am glad I had my Daughter for support.Didn't sleep much last night up all night heating heat packs for my tummy. Been very tired all day.

Whilst a week off from work I spend 3 of these days with my mum and dad. Mum is tired but just goes through the motions to support Dad through this time. The days revolve around medication, keeping dad comfortable and ensuring he is warm etc. If there is a noise of movement in the house we are both on the look out to make sure that he is okay; where is he? well we both follow the oxygen tubing that leads us to him.

Well tomorrow is my first chemo session and I am feeling a bit scared.Not of the needles and things just the after effects.I have my beautiful Daughter taking me has been to all my appointments with me .Her workplace have been very good changing shifts around to accommodate.will be thinking of all inspirational readings I have read here. This last week has gone by so quickly and I am still enjoying being back at work - well sort of!!! There may be a bit of pressure on this week - a near impossible deadline to be achieved by 22nd June. This will mean extra hours and possibly weekend work. A year ago this would not have been a problem but have decided 'no way Jose!!' Happy to maybe put in an extra hour each day - but hey. Also have been thinking. I am a worrier - used to be about work, then about anything (primarily 'the return') and now again about work and 'the return'.

I think most of you know my story with my 83yr old dad with oesophageus cancer. Well tonight I spoke to him and he can't breath. My daughter and I are going up this week to pick him up and bring him down here with me for a week. Now he is ready to come and live with me as I think he knows he hasn't much time left but I cannot get another 12mth lease and that leaves us both in limbo. Also my brother rang tonight and I know he loves dad so much but he is saying to me as my kids are that maybe it is time for pop to go but I can't and won't accept that.
