Retinoblastoma - Cancer of the Retina Early detection of Retinoblastoma is vital, as it can occur while the baby is growing in the womb. Detection is usually picked up after birth, as doctors check for a red reflex in the retina. Joshua's detection started with normal photos just after his birth. His pupil was quite large and filled with a gold like colour. Certain angles in which we took the photos would show different results. A red reflex was definitely visible, but for some reason. his eye would also fill with this gold consistency. My mum and i knew something wasn't right.

Thank you for the article about anticipatory grief on this website. It sounds like my exact experiences! I am supporting a close friend 76 yo with gastric cancer rapidly spreading in his lungs, causing breathlessness. A second round of chemo is coming up. The first one last year gave him 7 reasonably good months in spite of mouth ulcers, tiredness etc. This time the prognosis isn't good and the chemo sounds like it will be even stronger.

Oh one week before my operation..am i worried OH NO !!!just because i eat and run to the little girls room after a meal..people think what a calm person..but my tum is not calm. One thing i notice when you have cancer that people tend to avoid you Its just they dont want to go to a place inside them that makes them feel well not in the comfort zone. Hi everyone, my name is Jess and I am a 26 year old art student from Sydney, NSW. I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) just days after Christmas in 2005 while I was living and working (and travelling) in the UK. Of course it came as a shock but I'd been feeling so awful for days (I was found to have Pneumonia and Pleurisy first, which led to the discovery of the ALL) and I almost expected something was very wrong.

Hi,Im from Port Lincoln in South Australia. I was diagnosed with cervical cancer in Sept 2007 at 21 years old. I am in remission, but have a lot of things going on due to side effects of the chemo and ray. This is all becoming very costly and I am unable to save for my future as all spare cash goes on medication, counselling, physio, accupuncture etc. I've emailed and contacted so many organisations, but nothing! HELP PLEASE. any information would be appreciated as this is making life very stressful and I cant see myself getting ontop of things financially. Thanks
