I am my hubby's carer & I need any info that may be helpful for me for what I face ahead. we are halfway through radium (6 wks total) away from family & friends & he started chemo orally at the same time.

My mum has just been diagnosed with cervical cancer stage 4b. It is in the lymph nodes in her chest and the dr is giving up saying they can treat the tumor but as for the rest they dont care. I guess its because of her age but she is healthier than me. Im at a loss as they gave her a year to live. Im devasted as to why they cant treat the nodes.

Has been a while since I have been on this site, Pete lost his battle with GBM 6/9/13. Things started to change when he got lost going to work on the 19/8/13, quickly we saw changes to the point on the following Monday 26/8/13 I called for him to be taken for assesment so I could get our house prepared for the new Pete. As he got assessed our wonderful coordinator told me that he was more then likely not coming home so onto the palliative hospital waiting list he went. Pete never got out of bed again.

I can't believe it has been 7 months since he left us....... In that time we have celebrated his 40th birthday, Easter, Mother's Day, our daughters eighth birthday, Father's Day and our wedding anniversary..... All days were cause for celebration......Father's Day was tough though....both the kids struggled during the week beforehand...making presents in their classrooms for a dad who no longer exists was tough...... But they handled it....on the day itself we decided to paint a wall in our house his favourite colour- black.....so we now have a black wall in the house......cool!!
