Patches it is very sad what is happening with your husbands health,it would be depressing to go to the same place his mother died,it certainty would increase your husbands depression and have a bearing on his overall health. Surely the mouth ulcers could be managed at home by yourself and the pain meds looked after by the palliative team,sometimes you need to stand your ground if that’s what your husband wants,it is all about quality ,now that Chemo has been stopped,he is definitely not a quitter no such word for any one dealing with cancer especially pancreatic.Has there been any mention of Ascites. I hope he’s feeling a bit warmer.

Hugh CA19.9 tumor market can fluctuate during chemo,as to the big drop in numbers,sorry I don’t know the answer,possibly the best indicator is when the latest CT scan results are known, anytime the numbers come down is much better than rising,I do know when numbers go up it is the actual percentage of rise that is noted.as well as the numbers,good luck with your Dads treatments.

Patches sorry to read about your husband ,pancreatic cancer can be very aggressive at stage 4,and yet it can be different for others,I hope palliative care are involved very quickly for both your sakes.Its sad that chemo is knocking his body around so much.

Hi Lisa2 I had a Whipple with similar reactions throughout my chemo ,to help me get as many rounds in ,the strength of chemo was reduced during treatments,it helped me it can’t hurt to have a chat with your oncologist about reducing strength. Try and hang in there but I can understand about not having anymore if that’s your decision,

Nicko sorry to read this,I hope that you have support from family and friends,are you on the Abraxane combination,I have had friends pass from this horrible cancer, Its very hard emotionally to process a terminal diagnosis,and then have to deal with the physical aspects that come with it.

Alee Hi The pain for me was under my right hand side rib cage as big as my fist,they said it was nerve damage,I have read of other people having a similar pain you describe,they say it can be an aftermath of Whipple surgery,and can take a period of time to go ,from what the sufferers describe it comes on like an attack,I still take creon how long after a Whipple are you.
