Hi traebo, I feel for you in this situation. I believe in Nature taking it's course, but I wonder if it is possible to hedge your bets: take & freeze eggs from one side, while continuing with option B? Budgie

Hi Nic1, You’re allowed to cry & it’s not a bad thing if it happens in front of your kids. Are they young? They need to know what’s going on. It’s a really good idea to talk about it with them. My eldest sister died from breast cancer 15 years ago now. She didn’t talk about it with her kids at all. They knew she was sick, but that’s just “how she was”. Her eldest son is now in his 30’s & he was badly effected by her death. He has told me that he wished she had spoken about it. In fact all of her 5 kids have said the same thing to me. It was, of course, her decision, but I think it was the wrong one. Talking is is one of the best things you can do. Please take care. Budgie

I’m glad to hear you’re not still down in the dumps lillian1. I’m going pretty well thanks, as I’ve just got the results from a CT scan I had done yesterday. It shows that my current treatment is still keeping most things at bay. I do have a small new bone met in another one of my ribs, but no new soft tissue mets. I am very pleased as I felt sure that it had stopped working. Just remember to take each each day as it comes, & keep breathing. Take care Budgie

Hi Nikkicee, My advice to you would be to get a second opinion, or even a third, as you are entitled to do, & put your mind at rest. Stress is the last thing you want & I can see no harm in getting mole mapping etc, done if it will give you peace of mind. 😊 Budgie

You have my deepest sympathies, Beck. I hope your Stepdad’s final days are pain free & as happy as they can be. I understand what you mean about the “health gods”. My mother, 2 sisters, a brother, grandmother & aunt have all had one form of cancer or another. Quite a few of them died from it. That’s just on my side of my family. There’s a few on my husbands side as well. Cancer is everywhere unfortunately. So we need to keep our chin up, take a few deep breaths & then carry on. Life goes on. My my thoughts are with you & your family. Budgie

Hi Beck, It is so hard to make a decision about having treatment or not. I am the type of person that says I would go through hell just to live another day - to spend that time with my family. But having said that, the side effects of my chemo treatment are miniscule compared to what others go through. I am terminal and on an oral chemo in the form of a tablet I take every day. I might be singing a different tune if my side effects were horrible. I do think quality of life is very important - after all, what is the point of being alive if you're not "living". All I can suggest is that you all sit down together and have some honest discussions about it. Whatever is decided, I wish you all a peaceful journey. Budgie

Hi Colin, Glad to hear the surgery went well & that you’re in such good spirits. Let’s hope it’s the last one of those you have to go through. Bring on the treatment now, hey. All the best. Budgie
