Hi folks What an interesting time we live in? Working from home again is a strange reminder of when I was recovering from surgery and going through chemo. I don't tend to sleep as much during the day time, but I've squeezed in 39 winks during the odd lunch hour. I went for a blood test over a month ago. My results disappeared. Phone appointment with my surgeon reveal he hadn't seen them over two weeks later. I started the ring around to chase them up, eventually tracked them down, but they had a different fax number for the surgeon's office. Possibly because they are working from home, but get this... I wasn't allowed to request my medical results to be sent to an alternative fax number, other than the one they had recorded. I was a bit surprised but it all worked out in the end. My surgeon called me for a follow up appointment... and only a few weeks later... and the test results are clear. My ongoing CT scan and colonoscopy are still on hold at the moment. I'm feeling really positive after getting the blood results. I don't consider myself to be high priority in the greater scheme of things, current environment considered. I'm comfortable waiting in the meantime. More blood tests and a visit with the oncologist in the next couple of months. No doubt by phone too. Anyway, that's my good news. Made another three months with no indicators. Best wishes to everyone. Cheers Portly Phil

Hi Tom I had colorectal surgery in July. Thought it was stage 2 initially but after surgery they upped me to stage 3. Found it in a lymph node. So off to chemo for me. This was my first surgery... and what a kicker! Wasn't real nice. it was about 20cm of bowel removed, which included the top of my rectum. It also included an ileostomy, which was a whole new life experience. was only supposed to be about 6 weeks, but then I needed chemo. I feel fortunate that my chemo only needed to be 3 months instead of 6. I couldn't cope with the chemo. I ended up in hospital with 3 out of 4 cycles. Eventually had my ileostomy reversed in December. That was a strange 2 months of trying to relearn what my body had forgotten. This was a time that I thought I'd getting over it all, but I was house bound. Couldn't stray far from the bathroom. Many times I just wanted the ileostomy back. It was far worse than I expected. Things are still a bit unstable. My missing pieces mean I'll never be the same, but I'm able to get back to doing normal things. i've got a couple of years of checkups ahead of me, but in the current climate, appointments are by phone and future treatments are deferred. I hope that helps. The biggest lesson I've learnt on my journey is that everyone's experience is different, even when they are the same. All the best. Cheers Portly Phil

I too am careful eating chocolate. The stains don't come out and I'd cry if any went to waste.

brains??? Awesome. You know, I was thinking of Brussel Sprouts, but, you know.... BRAINS! 🤯🤯🤯🤯 in preparation for the zombie apocalypse. Good idea! Might as well get used to eating it now. 🧟♀️🧟♀️🧟♀️🧟♀️ 🧟♂️🧟♂️🧟♂️🧟♂️ I think the zombie apocalypse is scheduled for November, when the quarantine is over. I know there are a whole bunch of people waiting for Trump to catch Coronavirus and die. But If he's just coming back in November... what's the point? Enjoy eating brains. I won't partake myself as my tastebuds are mostly working again. Stay safe. cheers

Who needs talent when you have a musical instrument and cancer? When your family and friends reach that point of going "I'm getting a little sick of you playing the cancer card", you can torture them with noise, followed up with a sincere "I love you". Damn! I must be in a mood this morning. Firstly cutting sick on Wagga; and now... loved ones. Maybe I'm just bitter about losing daylight savings. take it easy S
