I’m so sorry. It sounds like you’re doing a great job of putting your head down and focussing on your end date for treatment. My mother has cancer in her family so it wasn’t such a huge shock for me, although very unwelcome I’ve always thought I’ve inherited more of my motherr’s genes than my father’s. Darned it. I’m so glad you’ve been able to work through treatment. I was able to do so too with careful management of side effects. I think that really helped me. I hope it’s helping you too. It gave a good reason to get up and push through. I loved my job (sounds very different from yours though!!!) and it helped give me purpose. Wishing you the best and prayers up for successful treatment 🙏🌺

I hope you and your mum have more time than I had with mine after diagnosis. Keep hope while also preparing for the worst, and not waste time. The memories of that month are very very special to my family and mum’s closest friends, full of love and care. Please do keep in contact here if you need to ❤️🩹

Hi Beto
I'm sorry to hear about your wife and her experience towards the end of her life. Not having a will can cause stress after a loved one dies.
Thank you for sharing your experience and what you learnt. The Cancer Council has information on their website, which may help others, if they're in Australia, they can also call the 13 11 20 support line.
Start Creating Your Will Today | Cancer Council NSW
There is also support for people who are grieving, I've put the link, incase it's something you may find helpful. Again, you can also call 13 11 20 for more information.

Warm regards

I’m so sorry, Milly8517. Cancer barges uninvited into our lives and causes massive upheavals. There’s no putting lip stick on that pig. I was diagnosed with stage 4 appendix cancer in 2021 and after a wild few years of treatment I’ve been in remission since 2921. All I can say to you is not discount your husband’s feelings but feed hope and encouragement to him. With the way cancer treatments have advanced so phenomenally in recent years, there’s a lot of living to do yet ❤️🩹 Find a medical team who you have faith in and are comfortable with. As a patient that has been the best thing I did. I interviewed my oncologist and his nurse practitioner thoroughly after reviewing him on line before choosing them. They are fabulous and suit my desire to use conventional treatments with holistic support (diet, nutrition, exercise, mindfulness etc). I’m so impressed and glad you’ve reached out for support and guidance. You will need it. Cancer affects those who love us as well as ourselves as patients.
