I know how you feel, im in the same pos, I feel ok too but told im not going to live long, Im going to take each day as it comes, I live alone so when I go I can be found and they can do what they want with me, until that dycomes for you too try not to worry about it, what will be will be so live while you can and dont think about it, I know its hard but keep busy if you can and cary on like normal, enjoy yourself now See you in the place we all will be going soon, hope its as good as I want it to be 🙂  Wayne1 ... Dear grieving wife. I feel for you as I am going through the same thing.. My husband has stage 4 lung cancer with metastases in Liver and lymph We go thru a grieving process, It is called anticipatory grief I think it would be good for you to see a counsellor,,,or a psychologist. Who can help you go thru this I am doing that and it has helped me .... It is a dreadful situation, I am absolutely exhausted ,,, We are just going to go through it, it will be a hard road... They become very difficult with the medication affecting their behaviours,,, Please be assured there is help for you,,,, u can join the carers association in your state,,,,,they are a huge help Best wishes. We did check with the Radiotherapist about when it would be safe for him to have the Fentanyl and she specifically told us putting the patch on last thing in the evening having had the last dose of Tramadol in the morning - it would be safe and alright. But yes it was a huge lesson to be learnt and a hard way to do it. He seems to be going well now though. ... View more

It is hard to underestimate from the patient's view how important family contact becomes. I know that from my diagnosis everything became so much clearer and what was clear to me was how important family are. Other things like money / possessions just fade away. Wow Paul - you sound incredibly brave and focussed and I commend you for that. I think we need to be when we're dealing with any type of cancer really - face it head on! I share your frustration in that although your cancer is different to my husbands - they both do not have a lot of treatment options available to fight them by the sound of it - and when I hear of media reporting fundraising for breast cancer and bowel cancers I sometimes find myself wishing that the type of cancer we are dealing with was more common - and thus had more options to fight it with.
