Hi MsCate, Welcome to this community. Although, it's not necessarily a club you would normally like to be involved in, it can be a very helpful club. I am sorry you have cancer. What is making it so hard for you to tell your family? Is it because you don't want to hurt them? Family can be a very big part of coping well with a cancer diagnosis. They can be great sounding boards. I wish you all the best. Budgie

Hi Deb1, I'm sorry for your recent loss. Are there any activities you can partake in during the day time? Being alone would be terrible at this time for you. You need to have something to keep you occupied & happy, as life goes on. Do you have someone to talk to? You know you can always call the Cancer Council, or Lifeline. It can never hurt to talk to someone. Have you thought about moving closer to your children? Are they very far away from you? I wish you all the best Deb1 Budgie

Hi Sal2, I am sorry for your loss. I have heard of some people, when they are dying, waiting till the family is out of the room before they let go. I don't know why they do this, but can only surmise it's because they don't want to see the pain in your eyes when they do finally pass. It's a very heartwrenching situation. @iloveyoudearly7 is right though, counselling/talking to someone would be the best thing for you & your children. Don't forget to talk to them about it, they would be feeling as bad as you. Please take it easy, & take care. All the best Budgie

Hi Mitsy, Don't let anyone force you to do something you don't want to do. No matter how sick they are, they have no rights to make anyone do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable. I have heard of some people with cancer who play it up quite a bit. At the end of the day, only you can decide if you are willing to do what they ask. Budgie

Fair enough, if she doesn't want another opinion. As you say, it's her choice. Her wbc is extremely low. How are they treating the sinus infection? I hope they get it under control for her soon. Budgie

Hi rissamissa1234, I would be seeking a second opinion, just to make sure. It certainly wouldn't hurt. I hope your mother gets some clarification & the diagnosis she needs. All the best. Budgie

Hi @Annette46, How are you going? It's been ages since you've posted anything, so I'm just wondering how you are? I became a grandmother for the 5th time on the 30th January - another little boy. I get to meet him for the first time next weekend. I am very much looking forward to that. How is the bowling going? Have you been keeping yourself occupied? I hope you're going well Annette. Budgie

I don't know how quickly your body recovers from that particular chemo, but I would imagine everyone is different in the rate they recover. I would let your body guide you - If you're not feeling any fatigue or any other side effects, it's probably a safe bet that you're ok. Having said that, I wouldn't go anywhere without a mask, & I'd still take precautions. Don't go anywhere you don't have to. Budgie

It wasn't too bad except for the drivers coming towards us, scaring me half to death, driving on our side of the road, on blind corners! CRAZY! ABSOLUTELY CRAZY! But the drive is beautiful.
