Hi anyone, My name is Linda and less than 2 weeks ago, my brother was diagonosed with bowel cancer, it has spread to his liver, and after having surgery last Thursday to remove the bowel tumour and some of his liver, the surgeon also found "something" in his abdominal cavity- wonder what that might be? Surprisingly, one of my friends kindly said that she could tell me what it would be, Duh, how stupid does she think I am?

Nigel has his first MRI scan tomorrow since he finished radiation & chemo Dec 12. Meeting scheduled with the review team on the Tuesday to review the scan. Fingers crossed all goes well. I have noticed over the last few weeks a decline in Nigel. Not sure if this is still a hangover from the radiation. Nigel is weaker, his short term memory is bad and generally tired more . One positive is that I can still hold a good conversation with him. Trying to reduce Dex down to 4mg, but oncologist and endochronologist disagree with one another. The joys of doctors. Cheers Trish

Hi everyone, my name is Susan. I am 33, a wife and mother of 2. I recently met with a breast surgeon at Peter Mac to start the ball rolling on my decision to have a double mastectomy and reconstruction. My decision to go down this path is due to a number of factors, these being that my mother passed away from breast cancer 6 years ago, I carry the brca1 gene and I have 2 beautiful children that I want to see grow up. The decision for me has really been quite easy, I don't want myself or my family to have to go through what mum went through and if it means getting new boobs then so be it.

Hi everybody, Some people have asked for the full story, and I'll do it as soon as I feel up to it. This isn't it. Should be watching cricket, but they let me down. We won, really quickly. Vale, West Indies. 18 days since Ray died, and I have only just cried. Buckets. No, really, it's true. I haven't been able to shed more than a couple of tears at a time. People are trying to be helpful but they say "Don't cry", so I don't, but I need to ....

Hi, I'm Jo, my husband has grade 4 GBM. His original tumor was found in July 2009. It was a grade 4 methylated tumour. His surgeon achived a 95% resection although its location in the ocipital lobe and its size left him with some disability around numbers and direction. His short term memory has also been effected.

Hi, I'm about to start radiotherapy. It seems weird as this cancer issue comes in and out for me. Huge stress upon diagnosis, then operation/recovery then back to work. Back at work, the whole episode seems like a dream. Now back in hospital system has brought anxiety back again. I feel like I shouldn't be nervous as I've had such a good prognosis compared to other ladies who require chemotherapy and have a much higher grade than me. I didn't know whether to tick "I have cancer" or "I'm a survivor" as I'm not sure when you become a survivor.
