A new page has been added on Facebook .It is mostly for oral cancer and head and neck cancer patients ,but much applies to all cancer patients. It is called Sixstepscreening .org/ If not going through Facebook I think it can be found at www.Sixstepscreening.org/ The info. is very good especially for the newly diagnosed . It has good info. for surviving treatment ,coping ,being a care-giver etc. The financial info. applies to the USA but the rest is good for most.

I had spent most of this week feeling sorry for myself,tired,grumpy,off color and miserable all great traits to have for the people around you.Unsure they were as to smile and talk or just make a fleeting comment on the way to the safety of the outside world[ie being anywhere away from me].Having spent all day yesterday at the hospital in oncology and radiotherapy started to break that self pity,but it wasnt until last night when I dropped in to see my eldest daughter at work on the way home that I truly looked at myself and felt grateful for my life and ashamed at my self pity.A young 16 year

At pottery class tonight I painted a bowl I made last week. I decided I would paint a dark blue background with yellow daffodils. It was only after I started that I realised I was painting the logo from the top of this website.

Wow! I have just had my planning for Radiotherapy. I forgot how much treatment can consume your life. This is my second round of radiotherapy in two years. Last time I was lucky enough to have it at my local hospital. I have since moved and am required to have treatment away from home. I have organised accommodation through Can Assist as I feel that this would be beneficial for me emotionally. It is definitely a daunting prospect though. Sharing a room, a bathroom and basically everything, with people I don't know. I usually suffer from social anxiety so this will be a big thing.

I read that if one has a vitamin D deficiency and this is addressed it may help overcome depression . A test done by a doctor can determine if this is appropriate for any individual. There can be other health benefits as well.
