I just found out a few minutes ago that there is a Cancer Council Australia page on Facebook. I thought some may be interested to know . It cannot replace what we have here but it's there if anyone wants to check it out.

Mum was discharged from hospital yesterday and its lovely to see her back in her own home, more relaxed and comfortable. I've been shown how to give her the daily Clexane injection she needs following the blood clot and the first one this morning went smoothly. Phew. I suspect I will be mastering more new nursing skills such as this.

Just spending so much time at the hospital has shown me how many wonderful people are out there in the world of cancer.All the doctors,oncologists.radiotherapists,dieticians.nurses,receptionists and volunteers who always have a smile,time for a chat,tirelessly do their job with kindness and consideration to you the patient one of how ever many a day but no less important or special.Then there is the other patients who smile and chat,some about their own journey,some about the weather or those that just silently nod and let you know they know where your at.I have found this part of my journey v

Hi there everyone! I had to share......last week I went to a film called Crazysexycancer. It is about a woman called Kris Carr who has the same type of rare cancer as my husband (epithelioid haemangioendothelioma) her tumours are in her lungs and liver (whereas my husbands is in his peritoneum). She is a film maker and it was a documentary about six years of her life.....and how she chose to do nothing but monitor her cancer with scans. She also asked a question which we did not......."what happens if we do nothing?".........

I have been a member of this site for close to 12mnths now and I so love it. This site is so helpful no matter whether we be a sufferer, fighter or carer. I live in WA and am moving to Qld towards the end of the year, we are unsure of exactly where we will be living but I am sure it will be Townsville. A lot depends on the availability of work for my partner who currently works on mine sites.
