Hi everyone, I haven't been on line for a while. I was trying to pretend my life was back to normal. I had a stem cell transplant in 2010,pretty awful treatment for Multiple Myeloma. I took a few months off work, then returned to work in 2011. I managed quite well and noticed family and friends rallied around. What I am now noticing, is everyone thinks I am completely back to normal.I still suffer from terrble fatigue and I feel the experience has scarred me emotionally. I have increased my working hrs from last year and am feeling quite overwhelmed by everything.

As a mum with 3 small children, I have to be completly organised all the time. Organised to the point, where I can expect the unexpected.... wet undies in Westfields, bleeding nose at the fruit shop, cake mix in the pantry for playdates. But nothing in my nappy bag could have prepared me for the possibility that the weird looking lump on my head could be a melanoma, or that the little lump in my neck could mean it has spread.

18 months ago or therabouts I was diagnosed with a nasty naso-pharyngeal carcinoma, prognosis, well no one would say much other than may be 2 years was mentioned as a norm. Here it is now 18 months, 4 surgeries, 6 1/2 weeks radiation, more pills and medications than I can count later and my latest surgery/biopsy reveals "no cancer cells found". YEAH!! My work colleagues and friends are claiming that their prayers worked and I believe that miracles do happen - hope they happen to a lot more cancer patients!! Ta Paul M
