Here we are, my husband is waiting for his 3rd chemo round on Avastin for his advanced bowel cancer. (stage 4). Then, the nurse called and told us that his white blood cells has gone down to Zero. The 3rd chemo has to wait for couple of days. I was shocked (as he is eating quite well these days, as he becomes more a normal person) but nothing my husband can do. He just has to wait for his body to rebuild. The chemo drug killed the cancer as well as the good cells. His Cancer Marker has gone down from say 2,400 to 1,000. Of course, we are all happy.

Wow I am overwhelmed that I got so many responses, this is a great site and just having your thoughts has been great for me, so thank you everyone. Unfortunately my husband health is no better now with swollen feet and ankles and the onset of jaundice - just another hurdle I guess.

i am sitting here waiting for the phone to ring so that i can find our how my sister's PET scan went today. she needs to know its OK. we need to know its ok. my fingers are crossed. Linda

I have been caring for my husband with Pancreatic Cancer since Aug 09. We have never been offered any counselling or support - is this normal and where do we turn, things are pretty tough at the moment and I need someone to talk to

My life before this horriable thing happened to my family and i was wonderful. Just 6 short months ago i had a great place to live , wonderful friends , an awesome job , was just about to leave on my first adventure around the world , loved my family so much and i was pretty care free - i remember saying to a friend , "hay lifes pretty great at the moment". sure i craved for some things to be a little better , my love life was and still is no existant , but hay with everything else looking great that wasn't an issue.
