Ahhh the merry-go-round of life. How does the saying go? Stop the world I want to get off? Its the niggle again. YOU know, the niggle. The one you have after cancer treatment that turns you into a slight hypochondriac. The cancer is back the cancer is back is what we shriek internally when we are feeling slightly unwell and to which we respond "nothing dear" when our spouses ask if anything is the matter.

Having had cancer, I feel like I shoud take advantage of doing everything I want. I've self-published a book. I've been on the radio. I've forced myself to do a lot of things that I probably wouldn't have done if I hadn't had leukaemia. I told them how I had been really hoping that Daddy was going to be feeling better after he had the radiation treatment but it looked like he wasn't going to after all.

It's been 7 years - nearly 8 and last year was the first time I did research. I joined an online support group. I found out things that scared me, worried me. But you know what? I took it in my stride.

My wife's problems started 18 months ago with a diagnosis of diabetes and pancreatitis. Her condition never improved and a tumor was discovered virtually by accident in her bowel which was removed. Her condition declined over xmas and a temporary stent was placed in her bile duct. She continued to lose weight and was in constant pain for another ten months. High temps sent her to hospital once more and a permanent bile stent positioned. It was at this time the surgeon discovered a second primary in the pancreas that had been missed..
