People...being people...& life

One thing I noticed was how offended people are when you tell them you have a tumour. It is almost as though you have slapped their sensibilities and mortality in the face. You don't intend to offend people, actually I am sorry that they are offended. I am offended too come to think about it. Its very personal having someone tell you that this invasive bit of blob could actually determine the quality of your health and the duration of your life.

My ray of light!

It's only been a day since I have found Cancer Connections....what a ray of light. It's wonderful to read about others and their personal journeys. I thought I understood about cancer before I was diagnosed. I watched a very close family member survive breast cancer, chemo, the loss of her hair, the exhaustion, the mental anguish. Boy was I in denial. I had no idea.

Opinions from experience wanted please - swollen lymph nodes for 18mths thyroid now removed but lymphs still very swollen

Hi. A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF MY HEALTH PROB I have had thyroid probs past 14yrs. Was diagnosed with autoimmune thryoid problem 2008, hasimotos with graves disease but some specialists say Graves disease as my symptoms were of both.

What is normal?

I've been a survivor for one year now. It still feels like yesterday and the emotional wounds are still raw. People don't see those. I have a wooper of a scar on my left thigh after the egg sized sarcoma tumour has been removed. I now walk with a limp at 37 years old and I will never be able to run and chase my three year daughter when she is playing at the park.
