To those of you who sent your well wishes after I posted my first blog "Where to start" I would like to say a big Thank You.. Unfortunately my mum passed away on thursday (17/9/09) after a very short but grooling battle with lung cancer.. Mum was only diagnosed with cancer 8 weeks age and we only learnt that it was terminal about 2 weeks ago..

Am trying this word on for size per se. Just to see how it fits in replacing "positive". Not that i dont want to be positive, i just dislike the connotations that it holds for cancer patients.

My mum had just been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. She only found out on Wednesday 8/9/09 and attempted suicide almost immediately.. My father has completed crumbled and at this point not able to make decisions regarding care for mum. I have now organised "silver chain hospice service" and even that was a shock as i am aware this service is only available for people with less than 6 months.. It's all happening sooo quickly. Mum only became unwell 2 months ago.

Well, I went to see my surgeon today as a matter of routine where I pointed out to him a tiny little lump in my armpit next to the scar from the last recurrence he removed. I was expecting him to say that it is just scar tissue. He didn't. He sent me downstairs to the imaging dept right then and there and had me scanned. They found a 6mm well defined lump and a 3mm lump. There was no blood flow to them and they weren't obviously attached to anything. A core biopsy was performed and now I wait. It could be one week or two -- depending on how busy they are.

I need to know im not alone and that there are others out there just like me who have had chemotherapy and lost their hair and have had a lot of frustration when it comes to cancer...
