Today was the first day of Josh's 3rd cycle of chemo. Today we found out that he has an allergic reaction to Carboplatin. It gives him a severe cough, which can lead to swelling of the throat and difficulty breathing. Josh also gets welts on his body from Carboplatin. Its really sad: We have to see Josh get so sick, to make him get better.

Hi everyone, It's merkel with an update on Wazza. Wazza's been off chemo for nearly two weeks now. He's picked up a lot, still weak & a little unsteady on his feet. He's put on 3kg of the 6kg he lost. Next thursday he starts his second cycle of chemo. His oncologist has cut back Cisplatin & Gemcitabine by 25%. Were hoping he won't be as ill as last time. I'll let you know next week how he's coping. It's a tough road to travel, no matter how positive we try to be, we still have our down times. Take care all, Merkel & Wazza

Fantastic news!!! Josh does not need a Platelet transfusion!! This is such a relief, all the worries of the body rejecting the transfusion have disappeared :) We're back on Wednesday for our 3rd cycle of Chemo in the afternoon, and in the morning, we have an EUA for Josh, checking the response of the tumors to the Chemo. Hopefully, they have responded well.
