After some 21 months after her operation for her GBM grade 4 brain tumor Lorraine died on the 1 October 5.43 pm 2012. She had multiple seizures some 8 weeks ago. Hospital for a week and new medicine. She has lost most of her mobility on her right side. Full time nursing wheelchairs, eating and toileting Two weeks before her death she had extreme pain in her bowels/stomach area. Hospital again. Back home after a week now with morphine with increasing levels for pain management She is sleeps/unconscious most of the time

What a wonderful weekend was had by many people at the Bundaberg relay for life. It was a day I will definitely remember for a long time. I was surprised at how emotional the whole event made me- I found myself crying as I walked the survivor and carer lap with Dan. It was like a smack in the face to acknowledge that I have cancer, am currently fighting cancer and was being cheered on by a bunch of strangers. Also the candle lighting ceremony was again another very moving event..

If you want to reduce side effects of your chemo by half and have your chemo work more effectively get on to this stuff. This is a complementary therapy that has been trialed in Japan and has had some amazing results. Dr Nanba who was the Dean of a pharmacy in a major university in Osaka found that two thirds to three quarters of the patients on this gear with chemo had significant tumor reduction as compared with those just on chemo alone.

I suppose this is a question everyone asks. Well my dad was diagnosed in July with stage 4 non-Hopkins lymphoma. He was doing well with his treatment and then my mum got really sick. She was going to the dr continually but he could find nothing wrong. I go there Friday to drop my son off as they look after him while I work and there is my mum struggling to breath. I call a ambulance and she is rushed to hospital. She was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach and liver cancer. My mum is my world. How am I going to cope???

Well it has been a few weeks since writing a blog and I've honestly felt like a ball rolling along , bouncing from here to there with no real path in mind. Chemo is going well, weekly appts are part of the nom - I cannot wait til end Oct (as chemo will be reassessed + fingers crossed it will be completed.). Walking is part of daily routine and does help with sleep and improving my mood although it has been a bit flat.... I'm continuing to plan wedding, only 2 wks to tomorrow.... Hard to believe I've pulled it all together it will be a lovely day for sure.
