It's been a tough 2 weeks since we found that my wifes cancer had returned and spread. We have been told that they can't cure it but can only try to manage her pain with medication and some radiotherapy.The cancer has appeared in her lung,skull,neck,lower spine,ribs and leg.

The P.A.Hospital,Brisbane is holding an event this year . Just google this for more information. Last year was the first time they had this and invitations were mailed out .This year anyone can attend by going to the site and accepting .

I believe I have been in shock overdrive since December 2011 when my husband was diagnosed with lung and brain cancer.After all the tests including a PET scan to see if he could be operated on showed his cancer had spread to other parts of his body and inoperable he was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal lung cancer.He had palliative radiation treatment to shrink the brain tumor and is on oral chemo palliative treatment for his lung cancer.

Wednesday is the big day to meet the surgeon and get all the results from all the wonderfully scary tests that have been done. Not sure if I want to know or not,but all the brave people out there in the cancer community have made me see how strong and courageous they are. love and prayers to all of you along your journeys x

Hello all. My Operation went well. I ended up having a 9 hour opp - great news. I was told on the Fri pre admissin this opp can thake up to 22 hours. They took - total hysterectomy, gall bladder, part of the bowel, part of the stomach & fat as well (I weigh 61.9 kilos pre opp, so I aint got much fat lol) They took some peices bit higher where one of the 4 drains ended up being put through & small other bits & peices. The AMAZING thing was that I din't end up with a stoma. As the cancer was mainly over the opposite side by the ovaries they didnt need to do one.

I am 4 weeks out of radiation therapy, 35 treatments in all, and on the road to recovery. I have stage II, squamous cell vocal chord cancer, on the right side, and hope to God that I have beat this. I am struggling to eat food, and my tastes buds and salivary glands are not functioning, and all food is tasting bad and very dry, so I need to drink with each mouthful, which dulls any taste coming from the food. This is the worst part for me, as I have always enjoyed eating. I have lost 30 pounds since my treatment started, and try to drink Ensures to feed myself, but even they taste bad.
