My father has pancreatic cancer, he is in pain, emotional and I feel completely lost as to what is going to happen to him. He thinks that he just has to accept what has happened and is happening and more or less just allow the cancer to take over. Of course I don't want him to do this but how do you tell someone who finds everyday a painful experience, that he must not give up?

Dad has started his chemo this week and so far so good... As I was chatting to dad today I said (as I did twice last week) how excited I am about seeing him in a few weeks time for his birthday, then the response came "will you be here for my birthday? Oh love, that will be so good, it would be fantastic to have you here for my birthday!", now I am pondering whether he has gone down hill because of the cancer or maybe it is just an age thing...the answer to this I don't know. In many ways, it doesn't worry me, I would love to hear the same reaction from him everyweek.

The U.S. and UK have cervical health awareness month in January. They also have cervical cancer awareness ribbons in teal and white. I guess someone found my tongue in cheek moan about Dorovitch offensive as it appears to have been removed. Strange my poems berating Dorovitch about their late delivery of results last June are still there. Maybe prose is more offensive than poetry. Harker - be careful, I don;t think they are your favourite organisation either. Well ten days after they took blood I got the results with the following message:

And yet, still groggy from the general anesthetic and with the odor of hospital chemicals invading my senses I am inspired to write. As I say, and keep saying (and believing), everything happens for a reason under this great and beautiful universe.
