went for quick spin in my car for the first time in months. took a few to get used to the flow of the car and everything was tight but aside from that, I had the biggest smile on my face as it felt sweet.look forward to a few more spins in the near future.

A milestone reached this weekend and one that two years ago I was not sure I would reach. The chemo killed the cancer although I did not know this until the pathology results after surgery on 6th January,always be a date to remember as it was the day after my 46th birthday which I may not have made it to. As far as I know form my last scans in September I am still cancer free so another 3 years to go to be declared 'cured' by my doctors as my type of cancer has a high incidence of re occurrence within 5 years so nearly half way there. Good times 🙂

only 2 more rounds to go for chemo and im done. itll be 7 all up when the dust settles and im starting to get back to normal. feeling I can cope better towards the end of it all. don't know if its cause im at the end of treatment or my body is tolerating it better, but i feel chirpier.

Well it's been the first week of treatment with RT and ONC after diagnosis mid September. I'm hating the PICC line and having to carry around the bottle of chemo and must remind myself it's for the better (I have people that depend on me) so need to remain positive that this will all be okay in the end. It's quite confronting to find yourself face-to-face with mortality. We all think of it from time to time but it's a different demon when it's YOUR demon.

Only two years after my dad lost his battle it seems we are not being granted any reprieve from the constant shadow of cancer. Today's mammogram results abnormal... biopsy now to happen on Monday and we go from there. If it was anyone else, I'd be the first to be preaching 'stay positive', 'the odds are great these days' however in my case, its not so simple with a family history such as this: Great Grandmother had a full mastectomy and radium treatment. Grandfather had a full mastectomy. Grandmother a lumpectomy and radiation.
