i hate that look everyone gives you when they know you have cancer I live in a small coastal town and own a business here, people that would normally stop and say hello now put their heads down or just give the look and walk away hey people i am not dead yet and dont intend to be for awhile there is plenty of fight in this old girl i tell you. i have only just been diagonised maybe the novelty will wear off

1. It is open 24/7, no appointments necessary. 2. It never says, sorry our time it up for today, esp when I have just got onto the subject that's really bugging me. 3. It does not have eyes, never gives you any "looks" if you have not had the look yet it will happen. 4. The people from Cancer Connections (staff) I have spoken with so far have been the nicest, most open to helping people you can wish for at this time in your life. 5. The more I read other peoples thoughts & stories the more I know I am normal, this is what really happens in our heads and lives.

well this is new to me so i guess ill just tell you a little about me 🙂 my mum was diagnosed with lung cancer in november 2010 it had already spread to the lymph nodes in her neck by the time she saw the specialist i was with her and they told us that it was terminal and inoperable it was such a shock as i always thought she'd grow old and we would have shopping trips and afternoon tea outings shes only 59 now at first i thought ok lets tackle this head on i researched everything i could on lung cancer treatments and outcomes but it made things worse it wasnt giving me any good news.

Is it normal for me to be worrying more about my dad then my mum who is the victim of this? i worry his not coping, mum is his bestfriend his soul mate, they are the perfect couple, they are all i wanted to be!! working out how to help him and making him realise this is hard and painful but its our battle not just her battle, i just hope he knows how much i love him and how much i will be there for him good days and bad!

There is so much to take in and so much going on in my head. Trying to stay positive, but also worrying about the worst. The ticking of that time bomb clock seems to get louder at night. It's often a see-saw from one emotion to the other. Your perspective on what is important in life can change so quickly. At least on here we can relate to each other on how you feel, and I know myself with sleep issues someone saying to you "you just need to relax" really doesn't help, it just makes you scream inside.

been a couple of weeks of firsts for me a hospital visit for suspected gall bladder problems a hundred tests later diagnosed with breast cancer that has already spread to liver and bone only had a mammogram 14 months ago so pissed off start chemo this week and now i am using a blog which i have never done before all a real learning experience
